BRIFFA. On February 1, at Betania Convent, Msida, Sr ANICETA of the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus, aged 87, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus, her sisters Emmanuela, Therese and Victoria, her brother Costantino and his wife Antoinette, her nieces Deborah, Lara and Maria and their respective spouses and families, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today, Saturday, February 2, at 2.15pm at the Church of the Franciscan Sisters, Msida, followed by interment at the Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
GIORGIO. On January 31, FRANK, age 87, originally from Sliema, passed away peacefully at Casa Antonia, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sister Marie Elena, his brother Herbert and his wife Penny, and the family of his late brother Joe, residing in Australia. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 4, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.30am at Balzan Parish Church, followed by interment at Żebbuġ cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest. Frank dedicated many years running the Catholic Action Centre in Sliema and was awarded the Senior of the Year in 2012 for his voluntary work.
MAGRO. On January 31, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, passed away peacefully at the age of 76. He will always be loved and remembered by his wife Marlene, his daughter Michelle and her husband Paul and young David, his son Mark, his siblings Pia, Grazio and his wife Annie, Ċettina, Charles and his wife Grace, Lilian and her husband Frank, Mario and his wife Ritchie, Giovanni and his wife Marlene, Antoinette, Paul and his wife Susan, his brothers-in-law Tony, widower of his sister Cora, and Victor and his wife Ċettina, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Saturday, February 2, at 8am, for Żabbar parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by private interment in the family grave at Żabbar cemetery. May he rest in peace.
MICALLEF. On January 31, at Mater Dei Hospital, CONNIE, widow of Lino, aged 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved children Henry and his partner Mariella, Marisa, Veronica and her husband Arthur, her grandchildren Noella and her husband Simon, Luke, Ema, Jessica, Jacob, Rebecca and Angelica, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Saturday, February 2, at 8.30am, for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
ZAHRA. On February 2, at Mater Dei Hospital, LINA, née Muscat, aged 84, of Valletta, residing in Guardamangia, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Alfred, her children Joseph F. X. and his wife Lucienne, Marisa, Charles and his wife Claire, Stefania and her husband Simon Vella, her grandchildren, David and his wife Sarah, Maria and her husband Clive and great-grandson Luigi, Paul and his girlfriend Julia, Michela, Mark and his girlfriend Lara and Matthew and his girlfriend Judy, her brother Frank and her sister Miriam and her husband John Borg, nephew and nieces. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 4 at 2pm at the collegiate parish church of St Paul’s Shipwreck, Valletta, followed by private interment in the family grave at Santa Marija Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

A jumble sale in aid of the Dominican missions in Albania is being held at the parish centre in St Monica Street, Guardamangia, daily until February 28 between 9.30am and noon and from 4.30 until 7pm.
