An 18-year-old woman was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Naxxar early on Tuesday.

The police said the accident happened in Triq il-Balal at 12.15am.

The woman, from Ħamrun, was a passenger in a Toyota that was being driven by a 20-year-old man from Fgura. The Toyota was involved in a collision with a Peugeot Partner that was being driven by a 20-year-old man from San Ġwann.

The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating.
