BALDACCHINO. On January 27, MARIE, widow of Mario, passed away peacefully at the age of 85, surrounded by her family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her only son Nicolo’ Baldacchino Orland and his wife Marie, her beloved grandchildren Nicolo’ Jnr. and his wife Tiziana, and Rebecca and her husband Clive Spiteri, her three great-grandchildren Zac, Philippa and Jake, her brother Anthony Ciancio and Josephine Tonna, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Tuesday, January 29, at 8.30am, for the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by private interment in the family grave. Lord, grant her eternal rest. The family would like to thank the staff at both Casa Arkati, Mosta, and Mater Dei Hospital for the care provided over the past years.
EVANS. On January 26, GORDON GWYNFRYN, aged 88, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Jean, his son Stephen and his partner Marsha, his daughter Mandy and her husband Ivan, Sebastian and Francesca his adoring grandchildren, relatives and many friends in Malta, the UK and around the world. He will be greatly missed. There will be a thanksgiving to celebrate his life, the date and location will be announced in due course. The family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors, nurses and carers at Mater Dei Hospital, Urology Ward 2, for all their dedication and kindness.
GAUCI. On January 27, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELO, aged 72, widower of Maria Stella, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sons Albert, Bernard and his partner Karl, his brother, his wife’s brother and their family members, as well as his nephew Nathan. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Tuesday, January 29, at 1.45pm for the Żebbuġ parish church, where Mass will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at the San Blas cemetery. Donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
GRASSO. On January 22, ALBERT VICTOR, went to meet the Risen Lord at the age of 92. He leaves to mourn his loss his dearest wife Maria, his brother Eddie and his wife Lucy, his sister-in-law Gladys, besides other relatives and friends. Mass to celebrate his life was said at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel. Interment was held privately at his request. Lord Jesus, gentle Shepherd, grant him eternal rest.
ZAMMIT. On January 26, GIOVANNI ANDREA (known as Galandrin), of Qormi, aged 96, passed away suddenly. He leaves to mourn his loss his sons George and his wife Rita, Joseph widower of Carmela, his grandchildren Claire-Corinne, George-Vital, Marija-Helga and Christopher, their husbands and wives, his great grandchildren Mark, Matthew, Andrea, Diana, Kate and Giorgio, his in-laws George and Henry, who lives in Australia, and Catherine, his nephews and nieces besides many relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Monday, January 28, at 2.30pm, for the parish church of St George in Qormi, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 3pm, followed by interment at the Resurrection Cemetery in Qormi. No flowers by request but donations to the id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family regret to inform that they are unable to receive visitors at home.
