Four foodies won the chance to sample the degustation menu at Taro at The Villa and meet with the head chefs after winning the Foodie Challenge social media competition.
Every week for four weeks, competitors had to correctly guess the number of ingredients presented from Taro’s autumn/winter menu. One winner was chosen each week and their prize was a degustation dinner for two, and the chance to discuss the cooking process with head chefs Adrian Buttigieg and Ryan Galea.
The competition had nearly 4,000 engagements along with a total reach of 50,000 individuals and 190,836 impressions.
The Villa, a 19th century gem located in Balluta Bay, was recently completely transformed as part of Le Méridien’s overall renovation and rebranding strategy to become Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa later this year.
Hotel general manager Alex Incorvaja said: “The scope behind this challenge was to create something engaging for our audience, while looking to understand how many people believe they are foodies and capturing the right audience.”
