There has been lots of discussion on the Marsalforn breakwater project but perhaps there is a more practical and economical alternative: an underwater seabed wall as in coral reefs that protect lagoons.

This could run across Marsalforn bay from the old jetty (gun pier) to the opposite side, with entry and exit points for boats. A few wrecks could also be used. Divers, marine life and the sea could benefit and the bay wall could stop the tide.
