Hibernians emerged comfortable winners over neighbouring rivals Fgura United to book a place in the quarter finals of this year’s FA Trophy.

Fgura immediately found themselves in arrears when Jurgen Degabriele’s corner was touched in by Tiago Fonesca who rushed in to send the net bulging with a flick.

Fgura could have conceded a second inside the first seven minutes.

Mark Gauci bundled Taylon to the ground to concede a penalty.

Andrei Aguis took responsability for the penalty but his shot was touched away by Brandon Bartolo, the Fgura goalkeeper.

On nine minutes, Fonseca hit the wrong side of the post as Hibernians maintained the pressure on Fgura.

The Paolites intensified their efforts and Taylon grabbed a second in the 33rd minute, sending a precise low drive into the bottom corner.

On 54 minutes, Dunstan Vella played a quick one-two with Tiago Fonesca and then curled the ball from the edge of the box.

Hibs struck again with 12 minutes to go.

A free-kick by substitute Marco Sahanek was pushed out by Bartolo in the direction of Fonseca who prodded the ball home from close by.
