Noon: Olivier Spilmont, director and the Ensemble Alia Mens perform during the Musica Poetica – Bach Cantata and Concertos at the Manoel Theatre, Valletta.
Charlie Siem4pm: Lucile Boulanger, viola da gamba, performs in Back to the Future at the Oratory of Our Lady of Charity, next to St Paul’s Church, St Paul’s Street, Valletta.
The programme includes, among others, works by Sieur Dubuisson, Nicolas Hotman or Hauttemant, Marin Marais, Sieur Demachy, Philippe Hersant, Sieur de Sainte Colombe and Philippe Hersant.
7.30pm: Antonio Caldara’s Maddalena ai piedi di Cristo will be performed at Our Lady of Victory Church, Senglea, by Divino Sospiro, Massimo Mazzeo, sopranos Gemma Bertagnolli, Silvia Frigato, counter tenor Filippo Mineccia, mezzo soprano Rosa Bove, tenor André Lacerda and Hugo Oliveira, bass.
Sunday
Noon: Johann Christoph Pepush’s Venus & Adonis will be performed at the Malta Maritime Museum, Vittoriosa, by The Harmonious Society of Tickle-Fiddle Gentlemen.
Lucia Micallef5.30pm: Lucia Micallef on the piano and Nicolas Dautricout on violin, perform in Bach to Balanchine. The programme includes pieces by Bach, Schumann, Stravinsky and Vitali.
Monday
Noon: Our Lady of Porto Salvo Church, Senglea, hosts Isang Enders for the Bach Cello Suites 5, 2 and 4.
7.30pm: Violinist Charlie Siem performs during Charlie’s Baroque Angels at St Mary’s Church, Għaxaq. For a little extra, the audience can mingle informally with the performer at the St Joseph Band Club, Għaxaq, while having something to eat and drink after the concert.
