APS Bank recently held the second from the series of lectures APS talks. The event, Trading on China’s New Silk Road, took place at the PwC Hub in Qormi and was presented by Marcus Schütz, APS Bank chair at the University of Malta.

The talk explored the unprecedented economic development of China, and how it initiated a trillion-dollar infrastructure development to connect Asia and Europe, sometimes called China’s new Silk Road or One Belt, One Road Initiative. The talk also explored the potentials for Malta.

Following the event, Dr Schütz, who was head of corporate strategy of Volkswagen Group China and lived in the country for 12 years, said: “The lecture was an excellent occasion to share knowledge and experience with a high turnout of business professionals in an interactive format. This is a good way to expose Malta to a global context, assessing opportunities and risks as well as sparking ideas and innovation that benefit the economy and community.”
