The Nissena Philharmonic from Italy, conducted by Alexei Galea Cavallazzi, will be accompanying Maltese soprano Marvic Baldacchino and Italian baritone Salvatore Salvaggio in a 100-minute programme of popular arias by some of the most loved composers of the genre.

The orchestra and conductor shall also take centre stagefor some of the most beauti-ful operatic overtures in the repertoire.

This evening shall also feature vocal and orchestral works which are not operatic but have been included because of their popularity. The Mediterranean conference Centre is being supported by Zarattini International limited and by the European Foundation for support of culture. This is a family event which will be enjoyable to professional musicians and music lovers alike.

The first part of the programme includes La Gazza ladra ouverture, Italiana in Algeri ouverture, La Calunnia from Barbiere di Siviglia, Deh’  vieni non tardar  from Le Nozze di Figaro, Cavalleria Rusticana (Intermezzo), La Cenerentola aria don magnifico: miei rampolli femminini, Quando m’en vo from La Boeheme, Le nozze di Figaro overture, La ci darem la mano duet from Don Giovanni, Die Fledermaus Ouverture, O mio babbino caro, Funiculi funiculà, Non ti scordar di me, Piff paff puff – La Grand Duchesse de Gerolstein, Norma overture and An der schönen blauen Donau.
