ABELA. On Sunday, January 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIA ELENA (Mariella), née Refalo, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss, her beloved daughters Jocelyne and Caroline and her husband Andrew Magri Overend, her grandchildren Michael and Dominique, Nadine and Tomaz, Amanda and James, Fiona, Lisa and Luke, her sisters-in-law, Anne Refalo and Margaret Borg, her nephews Fr Gordon Refalo, Ian and Hazel Refalo, her dear cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday, January 11, at 1.30pm, for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. MELVANI. On January 7, at Mater Dei Hospital, our dearest mum KALA passed over to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She is now united with our dad, her beloved Monu and her precious Ami. She will be missed by her children Anne and John Chetcuti, Asha Caroline and Mario Caruana, her treasured grandchildren Sarah Chetcuti, Matt Caruana and Sarah Lanzon, her brother George and his wife Meena, in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, January 9, for St Publius parish church, Floriana, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 10.30am, followed by interment at Ta’ Braxia Cemetery, Pietà. We would like to celebrate mum’s farewell with a splash of colour. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest. Satnam Waheguru. MUSCAT. On January 7, JOHN, aged 84, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Jane, his daughter Rita, his brother Saviour and his wife Mary, all other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, January 9, at 1.30pm, for the church of the Holy Cross, Order of the Capuchin Friars, Floriana, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Little Sisters of the Poor, Ħamrun, would be appreciated. Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can’t heal. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MUSCAT. On January 8, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital, LOUIS (Ġiġi), former Sergeant Major Malta Police 963, of Rabat, residing at Mtarfa, aged 84, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Josephine, his children Odette and her husband Gejtu Schembri and Neville and his wife Rina, his grandchildren Rebecca and her fiancé Jurgen Schembri, and Christopher, his sister Ġuża, his brothers George, Johnny and Charlie, Malta’s High Commissioner in Australia, and Tony, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, January 9, at 3.30pm, for Ta’ Ġieżu church, Rabat, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 4pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
