The Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Valletta will be hosting Gozo’s Gaulitanus Choir for its final commitment of the festive season.

The choir will be giving another performance of A New Year’s Toast, the annual concert with which it musically ushers in the New Year.

The programme presents a festive musical repertoire suitable for the start of the year – some bouncy Christmassy numbers and a lively Mary Poppins medley will alternate with some interesting British part-songs and a few semi-folkloristic Maltese excerpts.

To underline the collaboration between the choir and the RCSC, some numbers from the great Russian tradition will also be featured in the programme, including one celebrating the 75th anniversary from the death of Sergei Rachmaninoff.

The concert will feature the Gaulitanus Choir and its soloists, under musical and artistic direction of the choir’s founder-director, Colin Attard.

The concert is being held at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Valletta on Friday at 7pm. Entrance is free of charge. More information about the Gozitan choir may be obtained by calling 7703 8971, online at www.gaulitanus.com or by sending an e-mail to gaulitanus@gmail.com.
