The picture represents the Hawaii lantern floating ceremony of 2016. The floating lantern ceremony takes place every year on Memorial Day since 1999. The event was originally held at Ke’ehi Lagoon on the south shore of O’ahu, but was moved a few miles down in 2002 to the coast of Ala Moana beach. Apart from being a beautiful site to see, it is also intended to create cultural harmony and understanding.
