BORG. On December 29, at the Gozo General Hospital, TONY of Fontana, aged 56, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Dr Mary DeBono Borg, his sons Dr Alex and David, his sister Antoinette, his brothers George and Saviour, his wife’s sister Sonia, their spouses, nephews and nieces, relatives, colleagues and numerous friends. The funeral cortège leaves Gozo General Hospital today, Thursday, January 3, at 3.30pm for Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 4pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Cemetery, Xewkija. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Community Chest Fund would be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CAMILLERI. On Wednesday, January 2, Michael of Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, aged 82, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Joanna and her husband Michael Gonzi, Adriana and her husband Vladimir Milic, Madeleine and her husband Ian Sammut Dacoutros and Marc and his partner Candace Vella Bencini, his grandchildren Hannah, Luisa, Juliana, Thomas, Nina, Zak and his brother Victor, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow Friday, January 4 at 8.30am for St Mary of the Angels church, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Marija Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family would like to thank all the staff of the Urology Ward 1 at Mater Dei Hospital for their dedicated care and support.

CIAPPARA. On January 1, at Mater Dei Hospital, ALFRED, aged 80, of Naxxar, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Hilda, his children Corinne, Stephanie and her husband David, Daniela and her husband Edward, grandchildren Daniel, Shaun, Mark, Amy, Julia and Matthew, his brothers and sisters and in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Thursday, January 3, at 3pm, for The Nativity of the Virgin Mary parish church, Naxxar, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.45pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Naxxar cemetery. FARRUGIA. On January 3, pharmacist SALVINU P. FARRUGIA, aged 85, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Christopher and his wife Kathleen, Joanne and her husband Robert, and Adrian and his wife Marcelle, his grandchildren Mathias, Maris, Andreas, Michael, Mark and Robert, his sisters and brother, Pauline, Jessie, Mary, Vincent and Rita, their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, January 5, at 8am, for St Paul’s parish church, Rabat, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. MARKS. On December 20, THERESA (Terry), passed away peacefully at home, at the age of 94, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, and went to meet her daughter Vicki. She leaves to mourn her loss her devoted husband Bob and daughter Johanna (Jo), in-laws, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 5, at 4.30pm, at Kerċem parish church (Our Lady of Perpetual Succour and St Gregory the Great). No flowers by request but donations to RIDT Cancer Research would be appreciated. As the ceremony will be celebrating Terry’s life, the family would appreciate that those attending wear coloured attire. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MESSINA FERRANTE. On December 31, HERBERT, aged 80, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Elizabeth née Zammit, his much loved son Edward H. and his wife Daniela, his adored grandchildren Marcus H. and Elisa, his sisters Josephine, wife of Mario Padovani, Monica wife of Frank Salt, his brothers-in-law Tony Micallef Trigona, widower of his sister Maria, Tony, Victor, Joe and Norman Zammit, his sister-in-law Sandra, wife of Joseph Shaw, their spouses, nephews and nieces, other relatives and many friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital at 8.15am on Saturday, January 5, for St Julian’s parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family would like to thank specially the doctors and nurses of the Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre for the dedication and care shown during his last days at the Centre. Donations, rather than flowers, to Puttinu Cares Oncology Centre in Msida would be greatly appreciated.

TESTA. On December 31, CONNIE, née Fenech Soler, aged 82, widow of Henry, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Roger, her daughter Erika Sammut Alessi, her grandchildren Lara and her fiancé Chris Borg and George, her sister Josephine DeMartino, her in-laws Josette and Marie Testa and Sandra Griffin, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, January 5, at 12.30pm, for Hilltop Gardens chapel, Naxxar, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 1pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. TONNA. On December 30, at Mater Dei Hospital, ALEX, aged 61, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved Nadia and their daughter Emma, his sisters Vivien and Corinne and their families, Nadia’s parents Mary and Anthony Cassar, and her brother and sister Ray and Ivana, and their families, as well as other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, January 5, at 8am, for Mosta Basilica where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Any donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest. Special thanks go to his brother-in-law Tony and all the other consultants and staff at Mater Dei Hospital who looked after him with so much care and dedication.

ZAMMIT. On January 2, at Mater Dei Hospital, MONICA, née Borda, of Paola, aged 74, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Dr Joseph Zammit, her children Marcella and her husband John Muscat, Carlo Alberto, Aldo and his wife Joanna, Bianca Maria and Sergio and his wife Ruth, her sisters Catherine and her husband Dr David Yost and Sr Dr Maria Borda of the Medical Missionaries of Mary, her grandsons Nick, Jack and Mark, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, January 5, at 7.30am, for Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Requiem Mass

A Mass in memory of VICTOR ALBANOZZO will be celebrated tomorrow, Friday, January 4, at 7.30pm, at the chapel on the lower floor of the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, San Pawl tat-Tarġa (entrance through the gate on the right, when facing the sanctuary).

In Memoriam

ASCIAK. In loving memory of LILIAN, née Pillow, today the sixth anniversary of her passing away. Always in our thoughts and prayers. Her husband Albert, her children Theresa and Edward and their families. A Mass for the repose of her soul will be said today at 6pm at St John of the Cross parish church, Ta’ Xbiex. 

CASSAR BORG – GEORGE. Treasured memories of a dear father and grandfather who departed 28 years ago today. Never forgotten by his daughter Marion, his grandchildren Greta and Edward and their families.

CURMI – JOSEPH. Cherished memories of a wonderful husband on the second anniversary of his meeting with the Lord. Forever loved, forever missed by his wife Doreen. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

FENECH SOLER. In loving memory of MARY, née Griffiths, today the 17th anniversary of her demise. Fondly remembered by her daughters Connie and Josephine and grandchildren Sandra, Kenneth, Roger and Erica.

PANTALLERESCO – JOE. In loving memory of a dear uncle, today the fourth anniversary of his death. Always in our thoughts and prayers. Helga and Anthony.
