Times of Malta says the government has commissioned a study on the Corradino prison to determine whether it requires an infrastructural overhaul or if a brand new facility is required. In another story, the newspaper says the Gozo Ministry has issued an internal call to directly employ nurses currently working at the hospital with the intent of deploying them with the elderly when the government has no such homes on the island.

The Malta Independent says the Armed Forces of Malta rescued another 180 migrants as bad weather threatened people stranded on NGO boats.
