The Richmond Foundation is offering a Mental Health First Aid Course for Educators in secondary schools and in post-secondary institutions. The course is being offered free of charge. This is for a limited time since it is being offered as part of an EU-funded project.

The Youth Mental Health First Aid course consists of 14 contact learning hours.

It is designed for those who have frequent contact with young people, for example educators, sports coaches and counsellors. It is most relevant in situations where an adult becomes aware of symptoms that might indicate that a young person in their school is developing a mental health problem. However, the course may also provide some useful information on how to assist a young person who has a history of mental illness or longer-term mental health problems.

The course is part of the Mental Health First Aid Youth Project ESF 02.0149 being managed in partnership with the Ministry for Education and Employment. The project is part-financed by the European Union European Social Fund (ESF).
