Floriana wrapped up their negotiations with Birkirkara for Edward Herrera after unveiling the newly-signed defender on their social media, on Saturday.
The former Hibernians and Birkirkara has put pen to paper on a three-year deal after agreeing personal terms with Guido Ugolotti's side.
Earlier this week, timesofmalta.com reported that the Greens had reached an agreement with Birkirkara for a swap deal that included also Clayton Failla.
In fact, Failla's transfer to the Stripes will be concluded in the coming days with the Malta international ready to sign a two-year contract with Paul Zammit's side.
Herrera will become Floriana's third signing when the winter transfer window reopens this week after the Greens had already brought in two overseas players.
In fact, earlier this month Floriana signed Argentine attacking midfielder Ulisses Arias and midfielder Gaston Ezequiel Cesani.
