A turtle, named Carmine, was released to the sea earlier this week after having undergone treatment following a rescue operation in December 2016 when it came up a slipway in Marsaxlokk with a rope and a net entangled around one of its rear flippers.

Due to the tight entanglement, which had cut all circulation, Carmine lost its flipper.

After two years of rehab, the turtle was fit again and released at Xrobb l-Għagin by Nature Trust.
