Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident in Mdina that saw two people suffer minor injuries.

Saviour Formosa, the father of one of the injured parties, said his son was hit by a silver Fiat Punto on Sunday evening, just in front of the main gate to the silent city.

Prof. Formosa, who is the head of criminology at the University of Malta, urged the male driver of the car to go to the Rabat police station and turn himself in.

“You know that you hit two youths while overtaking; you know that you caused injuries and damage. Irrespective of the fear you might have felt at the moment, you should by now have owned up and prepared to make reparations to your victims,” he said.

Police urged anyone with any information to come forward.
