The Gozo College has developed The Mathracy Project goes Rhythmic – a learning experience for Year 2 students and their parents.  The event, held at the Astra Theatre in Victoria, blended together mathematical concepts, literacy skills and musical elements into one common factor – rhythm.

Students participated in an interactive session at the Astra Theatre led by Mariella Spiteri Cefai, followed by workshops representing all the three elements. The workshops were developed and animated by the literacy, maths, music and complementary teachers from the Gozo College. The Mathracy Project goes Rhythmic is part of an original venture developed by the Gozo College, entitled The Mathracy Project. The project aims to enhance the curriculum by urging students to explore, investigate and understand the world they live in.

The event, coordinated by Curriculum EO Lawrence Sciberras and Literacy Depart-ment head Elaine Ciantar, was developed in collaboration with the Astra Theatre.
