Gżira United have strengthened their forward line with the signing of Justin Junior Mengolo.

The 25-year-old Cameroon striker has agreed terms to join the joint-Premier League leaders until the end of the season.

Mengolo has spent much of his career plying his trade in Eastern European leagues as he was on the books of Romanian club Cluj, Levski Sofia, of Bulgaria, Hungary's Debrecen and Kazaki side Astra.

At Gżira, Mengolo is likely to partner Nigerian forward Haruna Garba upfront in the absence of Senegalese striker Amadou Samb who is recovering from an ankle injury.

Mengolo is unlikely to be the only foreign import for the Maroons this month as they have already parted ways with French defender Prince Mambouana and are also expected to part ways with Thomas Veronese, the Italian wing back, who is seeking more regular football.
