I decided to put pen to paper to highlight a situation we are facing every day, hoping that something would be done about it.

At the back of a supermarket situated in Triq il-Għollieq, Mosta lies a residential area, which is gradually being turned into a commercial zone and where driving safely is becoming a problem.

The supermarket has a large parking area, which can take more than 50 cars though, most of the time, there is usually fewer than 10. Still, the management decided to use Triq il-Għollieq  to do the unloading from big trucks. The result, of course, is blocking the road and causing traffic congestion. Moreover, the trucks usually park at the corner between Triq il-Għollieq  and Triq l-Assembleja Nazzjonali, blocking the view of motorists coming down or up the hill (from and towards Triq l-Inkurunazzjoni). A bad head-on collision is likely to occur.

I do hope the powers-that-be will address situation and do something about it before it is too late.
