The word ‘corruption’, which is being bandied about daily by the anti-Labour government forces, is just a word like any other, unless it is backed by concrete evidence that is proven in a court of law. Otherwise, it is just an allegation.

These anti-PL government forces, led by certain elements within the Nationalist Party and those pseudo-political groups that use so many different masks,  as ‘OccupyJustice’, which I refer to as ‘OccupyMonuments’, Civil Society Network (that seems to have disappeared from the scene) and so many other names, claim ‘corruption’ even if a person who happens to be a relative of a Labour MP/minister/official or has any connection with the Labour Party is employed as a ‘person of trust’, which means his/her appointment is a temporary one.

‘Direct orders’, which are quite legal and have been made use of for decades, have become ‘corruption’. Having a company registered in an offshore jurisdiction, such as Jersey, Panama etc., which is quite legal as long as the tax authorities have been informed about them, are also being defined as ‘corruption’. Even the speed at which extremely important new road works are being done is termed ‘corruption’.

In brief, everything connected to the Labour government, is deemed by these anti-PL government forces to be ‘corruption’. They have succeeded to corrupt the real meaning of corruption. That is why the more they keep using the word ‘corruption’, the more they are being ignored by the great majority of our people.
