The following are the top stories in Wednesday’s front pages.

Times of Malta says the Court of Appeal has ordered the government to modify a public call it made earlier in the year to launch a fast ferry service between Malta and Gozo. In another story, the newspaper says a sense of inevitability, but no particular joy, was how Manchester United fans in Malta met the news that manager José Mourinho had been sacked halfway through his third season.

The Malta Independent says the Latvian general prosecutors office and justice ministry have not yet received any request for assistance from the Maltese investigation into 17 Black.

Malta Today says Maltese MPs are to be asked to waive the condition for the Corinthia hotels on St George’s Bay that any hotel development takes place solely for touristic purposes, so as to develop a luxury hotel and mixed used project.

In-Nazzjon quotes PN leader Adrian Delia saying that it is not true that the government has requested the Venice Commission report so as to safeguard the rule of law in Malta.

L-Orizzont quotes Justice Minister Owen Bonnici saying he agrees there should be a constitutional reform. The minister was speaking in reaction to the Venice Commission report.
