These are the leading stories in local newspapers this Saturday.

The Times of Malta writes that some school minibus drivers have said they are not getting paid by the government, and have threatened to stop providing their services as a result.

The newspaper also reports on a Maltese connection in a recent bribery case in Seychelles.

The Malta Independent quotes Finance Minister Edward Scicluna, who told the paper “I’m not defending anyone, but you don’t just act on allegations”.

L-Orizzont also focused on Prof. Scicluna, with the minister saying that the local economy is picking up speed and confounding EU forecasts.

In-Nazzjon reports on minister Konrad Mizzi, saying nobody believes what he said on TV show Xtra.
