Over 3,300 University students graduate

Times of Malta was this time unable to publish the entire list of graduates

Just over 3,340 University students graduated in almost 30 ceremonies held over the past month, the last taking place on Friday evening.

A total of 2,155 graduates followed undergraduate courses and 1,186 completed postgraduate studies.

The Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy saw the largest number of graduates with almost 400 students, followed by 283 from the Faculty of Health Sciences, 265 from the Faculty for Social Wellbeing and 235 from the Faculty of Arts.

In breach of the General Data Protection Regulations

The largest number of postgraduates – 225 – were from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, another 174 graduated from the Faculty of Laws and almost 200 received postgraduate degrees from the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy.

Unlike previous years, the Times of Malta was this time unable to publish the entire list of graduates as the University of Malta said it had received legal advice it would be in breach of the General Data Protection Regulations if it were to furnish names to the newspaper.

The University, however, still printed souvenir booklets containing the graduates’ names, which were publicly available during ceremonies.
