Two people were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance on Saturday morning and another two checked themselves in for treatment following a car crash on the Marsa-Ħamrun bypass.

The incident happened at around 6.30am when a 30-year-old man from Żabbar lost control of a Toyota Vitz he was driving, skidded smashed into crash barriers on the road.

He and one of his three passengers, a 25-year-old woman from Fgura, were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Two other passengers in the car, a 30-year-old man from Fgura and 31-year-old woman from Żabbar, eventually checked themselves in to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.

The two victims taken to hospital by ambulance were both slightly injured. No information about the medical condition of the other two passengers was available at the time of writing, though they are not believed to be in any significant danger.

The police said they are investigating further.
