The number of people registering for work stood at 1,790 in October, decreasing by 22.8% compared to the same month in 2017.

There was also a decline of over 520 people among those registering as unemployed, when compared to the corresponding month last year, according to the National Statistics Office.

Registered unemployment dropped in all age groups and irrespective of how long they had been registering for work when compared to October 2017, it said.

The largest decrease was recorded among persons who had been registering for more than one year.

The number of persons with a disability registering for work went down by 63 compared to the previous year, reaching 232. A total of 72% of total registrants with a disability were men, the NSO said.
