A 78-year-old woman from Luqa was grievously injured on Monday when she was hit by a car in her hometown.

The police said the accident happened in Triq San Ġorġ corner with Triq San Ġużepp at 6.30pm.

The woman was hit by a Peugeot 206 that was being driven by a 34-year-old woman, also from Luqa.
