The curtain comes down on the ŻiguŻajg International Arts Festival 2018

The 2018 edition of the ŻiguŻajg International Arts Festival for Children and Young People came to a close on Sunday.

Over 150 performers and theatre practitioners took part.

Over its 10-day programme, ŻiguŻajg 2018 welcomed 8,200 children from 45 schools, and more than 21,000 attendees overall. It boasted 27 projects including 14 international productions, nine commissioned works and three exhibitions, for a total of 147 representations across 12 different creative forms in 18 venues.

The festival under the artistic direction of Daniel Azzopardi hosted an ensemble of 159 artists from 11 countries; organised two delegate programmes and received 15 visiting international delegates.

Rupert Cefai, Chairman of Fondazzjoni Kreattività, expressed his satisfaction at the result of this year’s festiva. “We are very happy with this year's edition of the Festival; its popularity is testament to the joy it brings to children, and the love it instils in them for the arts,” he said.
