With reference to the article ‘Unions fuming over powers to change working conditions’ (November 30), claiming that the Forum Unions Maltin expressed their reservations with regard to a draft Bill on public administration, the Principal Permanent Secretary remarked that inaccuracies that do not feature in the draft Bill were being quoted.

Despite not having received any official request for an urgent meeting, the Principal Permanent Secretary affirmed that he is willing to clarify pertinent points with the Forum and discuss the draft Bill in detail in a meeting that, at his own request, is scheduled to be held next Monday (today).
