The most significant words said by any speaker during the Nationalist Party’s general council meeting recently were those by deputy leader Robert Arrigo when he declared: “Whoever is not capable of running his own home cannot run a government.”

He was dead right. Adrian Delia, Clyde Puli, David Agius and Pierre Portelli have been providing one example after another of their incompetence to steer the PN forward in its quest to win the hearts and minds of Maltese and Gozitan voters.

Of course, the prime sinner in this aspect is none other than Delia. Not only has he not shown any ‘new way’ of doing politics, which he had promised, but his extremely negative and ridiculous statements are giving the worst kind of example to PN candidates who will be contesting the European Parliament and local council elections next year.

To mention just one example, I refer to that candidate, whose name escapes me, who made the following surreal and disgusting statement: “Maltese workers do not have enough money to live at least like animals.” What was even more appalling was to see Delia and other PN exponents applauding enthusiastically these shameful words.

Who in his/her right mind, can even think of trusting this bunch of sore losers with the running of our dear country or to represent us in the European Parliament?
