Balzan registered a comfortable 5-1 win over Qrendi to proceed to round four of the FA Trophy.  

Balzan, took less than 10 minutes to break the stalemate. Kadu drilled in a rebound after Qrendi goalkeeper Jeffrey Farrugia blocked a first shot by Micallef.

Six minutes later, Balzan extended their lead. Andrija Majdevac hit past Farrugia from inside the box after receiving from Milos Lepovic.

Not long afterwards, Qrendi pulled a goal back in a rapid move which saw Ciro Quaranta connecting first time to a horizontal service to send the ball past Sean Mintoff.

The Premier League side Balzan restored their two-goal advantage with a fine move which had Kadu and Majdevac exchanging the ball to step up an opening for Correa.

The nippy midfielder found himself unmarked at the far post to poke the ball home.

A mistake by Bjorn Bondin gifted Balzan a fourth goal. The Qrendi skipper looked to have Lepovic’s cross covered but cleared the ball into the path of Majdevac who prodded home from close by.

Majdevac struck his third and Balzan’s fifth with a glancing header from Camilleri’s free-kick midway into the second half to seal the issue.
