Last Tuesday I had an appointment in Valletta at 9.15am. I was on the Swieqi Sidra busstop at 7.50am to catch the 8am bus. However, the bus arrived at 8.22am.

I asked a passenger whether there had been an accident that had caused a delay and she replied that she had been at the Msida bus stop at 7.15am to catch the bus leaving Valletta at 7.35am. This bus never left Valletta so she was late for work. To add insult to injury we stopped at Ibraġ and waited for 15 minutes for the bus to resume the journey.

When we got to Floriana there was a traffic jam as no one could drive towards Sarria church. To cut a long story short the driver was clever enough to reverse into St Anne’s Street and we finally got to our destination at 9.40am.

I missed my appointment, of course. In the two hours it had taken me to travel just from Swieqi to Valletta I could have arrived in Rome.

Transport Malta, stop telling us to use Tal-Linja; first put your house in order and stop taking people for a ride.
