• The feast of Christ the King will be celebrated at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary today at 4pm. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead the congregation. This year’s motto is Agħmlu kulma jgħidilkom Hu.

• A blood donation session will be held at Xewkija District Health Centre today from 8am to 1pm.

• The Friends of the Sick and Elderly in Gozo are organising a charity sale at the private road between Gozo Colleges off Fortunato Mizzi Street today from 7.30am to 1pm. The cost is €10 per car space. One can pay on the day. For more information, call 2155 1180 or 2155 3336.

• Marching Parade, including eight bands, followed by a traditional lunch at Pjazza Żjara tal-Madonna is taking place at Għarb, today from 9.30am as part of the second edition of the band festival.

• Alpha (12A) will be screened at Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30pm.

• The OASI group of volunteers are organising the annual book, plant and baby bazaar in St Francis Square, Victoria, (opposite the church) until Friday from 4.30pm until 7pm. Donations are welcome. Anyone interested in offering help at the bazaar can call the OASI centre on 2156 3333.

• Tenor Joseph Calleja will give a talk at Il-Ħaġar Museum in Victoria on Friday at 6.30pm. Calleja, who made his operatic debut at the Astra Theatre in 1997, will be interviewed by former Sunday Times of Malta editor Steve Mallia. Entrance is free. Due to space limitation, booking is essential by e-mailing events@heartofgozo.org.mt.• A meeting about the launch of the Local Government Reform White Paper for public consultation will be held at the Xewkija Band Club on Friday at 6.30pm.

• Fr Marcello Ghirlando will celebrate Mass and a healing service at St Anthony Church, Għajnsielem, on Friday at 7pm. There will be adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 6 to 7pm. All are welcome.

• The 2nd edition of Winter – Wonderland, the art-cum-craft event, will be held at the Artbox Home Gallery of Modern Art in Qala between Saturday and next Sunday. Gozo-based artists and crafts people will be participating with their original creations, including ideas on how to decorate homes for Christmas. Sweets and home-made food will also be available. Proceeds will go towards ALS Malta Association run by Bjorn Formosa. Opening hours: Saturday from 4pm to 8pm and next Sunday from 10am to 1pm and 4 to 8pm.

• The Swejjaq Christmas event will be held in San Lawrenz village square on December 8 from 3pm. Swejjaq (Maltese word meaning a small market) will include Christmas-themed objects and stalls selling crafts and games for children. Food and drinks will also be available.

• L-Anġlu tad-Dar, a Christmas musical by the Sacred Heart Minor Seminary students and staff, will be staged at the Astra Theatre on December 14 at 7pm. The musical is penned by Alexander G.
