Din l-Art Ħelwa has partnered up with its long-standing French counterpart Union Rempart and participated in an Erasmus Heritage Volunteers and Leaders exchange under the European mobility programme Erasmus+.

Seven youths travelled to Espalion in the Aveyron region southern France and joined others from Romania and France on a two-week-long restoration experience at the historic Chateau de Calmont d’Olt. Workshops included stone-cutting, traditional masonry and archaeological surveying, as well visits to neighbouring heritage sites and debates about cultural heritage and citizens in Europe.

This project, initiated by Union Rempart to mark 2018 as Year of European Cultural Heritage, has involved several European countries.

A lecture about this cultural exchange will be held today between 6.30pm and 7.30pm at Din l-Art Ħelwa, 133, Melita Street, Valletta.
