The scheming for the opening of companies in Panama had started a fairly long time before the 2013 election. I am 100 per cent convinced that the scheme was not thought out by a politician. It was the work of a good businessman and was so attractive that, just like Eve fell for the apple, so did the politicians fall for the offshore accounts thing, with dreams of millions of euros flowing in.

Is it possible that these politicians were not warned of the risk involved? I suppose they assessed the risk keeping in mind the strong majority in Parliament, together with their unbeatable efficiency in telling lies, which the clapping crowds swallow. Well, now the time of reckoning has come. Panic has struck and, although they continue to lie, there is nowhere to hide anymore.

The businessman that came up with the scheme will quietly dissappear from the scene and the politicians will face the music, which, hopefully, will not be music to their ears. Of course, if justice will be truly served, even the businessman in question will have to face the music and will feel the pinch much more than the politicians.

In reality, this greedy scheming was very foolish.

Given the huge electoral victory in 2013, this government could have been one which foreign countries could look up to as one of the most clean places where to invest. But this government has ruined everything because it preferred to believe in the Midas myth.

The Labour government is in panic mode. It just cannot deal with the 17 Black scandal. Contradictions and fabrications galore to try and divert attention from 17 Black.

What a pity Malta should come to this!
