A sacred art exhibiton by Aaron Formosa is being held at the Banca Giurtale, Independence Square, Victoria. Intimations, depicting among other themes, the Nativity of Christ, Christ and the Children, Christ raising the Daughter of Jairus from Dead, Christ as the Good Shepherd, the Marriage of the Blessed Virgin, Mary’s Assumption into Heaven and the Call of Karmni Grima, offers a new conception of sacred art… a personal interpretation of biblical and religious narratives. Formosa (pictured right) wants to generate an atmosphere of deep spirituality. This is done by creating an intensity of light and shade through the use of particular colours and by delineating the figures vaguely and indistinctly. The exhibition is a search for the self which is the stepping stone for the sublime. The exhibition runs until next Sunday. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 2.30pm; Saturday and Sunday from 9am to noon.
