Ninety-six Year 8/Form 2 students from 32 schools were recognised as Malta’s reading champions for 2018 during the recently held National Book Festival at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta.
The students were presented with gold, silver and bronze awards for being the most proficient readers in Maltese and English, who made an effort to improve their level of reading and promoted reading among their fellow students.
The students were selected through a continuous formative assessment process by teachers, teacher-librarians and school management teams.
The awards were organised by the National Literacy Agency in collaboration with the National Book Council and the Education Ministry’s Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes.
