The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers on Thursday. 

Times of Malta leads with a call for the better protection of journalists, made in the United Nations’ universal periodic review on Wednesday. It also reports that Italy and Malta are to share anti-mafia intelligence. 

The Malta Independent says members of the Electrogas consortium have distanced themselves from the secret Dubai company 17 Black.  It also says a draft European Parliament report has called for a phasing out of citizenship by investment schemes.  

In-Nazzjon says the prime minister has not taken any decision in the wake of the 17 Black revelations almost a week ago. 

l-orizzont gives prominence to remarks in parliament by Parliamentary Secretary Silvio Schembri, who said Nationalist MPs Simon Busuttil and Jason Azzopardi should be ashamed of allegations which damaged Malta. The newspaper also highlights the problem faced by Gudja residents because travellers park their cars there for long periods to avoid airport parking fees.
