Match official Jude Amin Utulu has been removed from the Malta FA for breaching its regulations following a disciplinary process, the local governing body of football announced on Wednesday.

The sanction was issued by the Referees Disciplinary Sub-Board within the Malta Football Association following a number of disciplinary hearings. The decision is subject to appeal, the MFA added.

Utulu was charged by the Malta FA for inappropriate behaviour after he was reported to have acted as a players’ agent with a club.

Utulu, who had been residing in Malta for several years, has been charged with misconduct after approaching a Premier League club and offered them a number of Nigerian players.

After receiving these reports, Malta FA and the Malta Football Referees Association both suspended Utulu pending an investigation and the Nigerian was not given any more appointments in domestic competitions.

Over the years, Utulu has established himself as a beach soccer referee and was also included on the FIFA panel.

His last international appointment was in the Euro Winners Cup 2018 held in Portugal between May 28 and June 3
