During the opening of the Gozo Philatelic Society Exhibition at the Gozo Ministry, it was announced that the society finally has its own premises in Main Gate Street, Victoria. The new premises offer better facilities, including the library, and more space for the committee’s needs. It will also have enough space for the Melitensia collection donated by Wolfgang Juncker.

Two other interesting developments are the setting up of a stamp shop in Gozo and an updated Malta stamp catalogue.

The exhibition offered young and old the opportunity to display a range of exhibits. One of the items on display is a stamped copy of the newspaper Il-Progress (inset), which was specifically published for Gozo by Progress Press.

The trophy was awarded to Jesmond Borg. However, all exhibitors will be receiving certificates and gifts sponsored by Maltapost.

A wide range of local and foreign stamps and covers, philatelic accessories such as albums, leaves, strips and catalogues, as well as telecards will soon be available at bargain prices at an Għajnsielem outlet.
