The Centre of Ignatian Spirituality (CIS) is organising the following activities at Mount St Joseph Retreat House, limits of Mosta.

Fr Mark Cachia SJ will lead an activity called ‘Beatitudes on Film’ from this Friday evening to Sunday afternoon during which participants will explore the Beatitudes through animated movies, namely ‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God (Despicable Me); ‘Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted’ (Up);  and ‘Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy’ (Big Hero 6).

Bernardette Briffa will lead a one-day retreat entitled ‘Living my First Christmas with a Loss’ on December 1. During the retreat, participants will be able to pray and receive support to prepare for their first Christmas after experiencing a loss that has marked their life, such as the loss of a loved one, of a job, of health or of faith. Child minding will be provided.

Antoinette Dalli and Elizabeth Scerri will lead a weekend activity for families with young children entitled ‘Parenting like Mary and Joseph’ from December 7 to 9.

During the event, participants will use the Gospel and modern psychology to find inspiration on how to be better parents. There will be a parallel programme for children.
