The international law firm based in Malta, Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates, was officially awarded Law Firm of the Year at the Malta Blockchain Summit. 

Silvana Zammit, who accepted the award on behalf of the firm, thanked the firm’s 200 employees for their dedication, support and hard work, which made the award possible.

Dr Zammit said the teams behind the firm always strive to ensure they give their clients up-to-date legal advice and solutions, ensuring that they stay ahead of the times. The firm has proven this through its leading position within the fintech and DLT industries, she added, where it has not only published numerous thought-provoking articles, but has also recently launched a ‘Blockchain Report’, providing an in-depth analysis of the attitude various governments have adopted towards blockchain around the world.

Prime Minister visits new BDO head office

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat recently paid a visit to the partners and staff at BDO Malta as the firm ramps up its operations at its new, state-of-the-art head office in Msida.

The new BDO office block is located in a prime position, enjoying very wide frontage overlooking the busy Msida-Santa Venera by-pass. It offers a new business address and corporate lifestyle for approximately 120 staff members and clients’ employees.

Dr Muscat was welcomed at BDO by senior managing partner and founder John Attard, CEO Mark Attard, tax and audit partners Josef Mercieca and Sam Spiridinov, as well as BDO EMEA CEO Trond-Morten Lindberg.

The partners thanked Dr Muscat for his visit and said, “The firm has invested its own funds to develop a new head office, underlining its commitment to the BDO brand, staff, clients and to our country. MBB to lead Europe-wide Erasmus+ project

The Malta Business Bureau has launched of its new Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliances Project, entitled ‘DIFME – Digital, Internationalisation and Financial Literacy Skills for Micro Entrepreneurs’. Through linking higher education institutions (HEIs) to businesses across Europe, the project aims to develop a cooperative learning model that will strengthen the financial and digital skills of entrepreneurs – enabling them to widen their networks and internationalise.

MBB CEO Joe Tanti emphasised that rapid economic growth has made it crucial for business and academia to come together and address some of the underlying challenges.

He added: “Supported by five leading European HEIs and five private bodies, the MBB will strive to ensure that this project boosts the quality and relevance of higher education, particularly within the field of entrepreneurship.”
