Tower Road in Sliema was not scheduled to be surfaced with cement, but perhaps nobody told the operator of a mixer which left a fresh trail in its wake on Friday.

A witness said the truck, which was working on a nearby construction site, flooded the road with spilled cement as it made its way up the hill, driving off without stopping.

"This happened in front of all the tourists," the witness said. "Great show for tourism."

This is the second similar incident in three days after a cement truck splashed three cars and the facade of a maisonette in Triq il-Pedidalwett, Swieqi, before driving off.

Apart from anger over the damage to their property, residents expressed concern that the slippery cement could be a hazard for drivers, particularly motorcycles.
