“We took nothing from the people,” Prime Minister Joseph Muscat boasted in Parliament, obviously admired by his colleagues.

I beg to differ on this and I say why.

How about asking the residents from Pembroke and Sliema, who are or about to be deprived of the glorious sun and fresh air for the rest of their life due to the high buildings sprouting around them?

What about the Gozitans who have squandered precious time waiting to board the ferry under the scorching sun just because a bright spark from his party considered it unwise to provide another ferry for the summer months and, above all, for having somebody next to his office at Castille to mess up the Gozo fast ferry tender, which as yet is still unresolved?

Last, but not least, how about the gradual erosion of the ODZ on the island with the blessing of the Planning Authority?

This reflects negatively on the ‘feel good factor’ of any individual. Financially there may have been a marginal improvement while ignoring factors that influence adversely our way of living, which no future government or Budget can ever rectify.
