Holders Valletta were handed a favourable draw as the draws of the FA Trophy Third Round and Fourth down were held at the Trophies Lounge on Monday.

The Citizens, who beat Birkirkara in last season’s final to complete a memorable league and cup double, were drawn to face Division One strugglers Marsa.

Should they overcome Marsa, Valletta will face the winner of the tie between Mellieħa and Lija Athletic.

Birkirara, on the other hand, were handed a tricky start to the cup competition when they were drawn against Gozitan side Nadur Youngsters.

The third round draw provided four all Premier League ties with the plum fixture being the clash between Floriana and Ħamrun Spartans.

The winners of this clash will face the winner of the match between Birkirkara and Nadur.

Sliema Wanderers were drawn to face fellow Premier League side St Andrews while Hibernians will be up against Qormi.

The other tie featuring top division clubs puts against each other Mosta and Senglea Athletic

Gzira United are favourites to reach the fourth round when they face second division side Rabat Ajax while Balzan will play Qrendi.
