The conference, addressed by President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca and Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana, dealt with issues related to the mental health, wellbeing and resilience of people with mental health problems.

Other speakers were Commissioner for Mental Health John Cachia, Clinical chairman of the Department of Psychiatry within the Ministry for Health Anton Grech, psychologist Joyce Callus and systemic family therapist and consultant Charlie Azzopardi.

Ballet dancer Maribel Bajada gave a performance, entitled Hope, highlighting the importance of the recovery process of mental illness, as recovery depends on the notion that a patient desires to get better. The journey of recovery is an on-going, personal process.
