Walking down Triq Anġlu Gatt, in Mosta, round about October 20, I noticed a 30-centimetre-square gaping hole at the end of the pavement, corner with Eucharistic Congress Road. I contacted the local council to report the matter and have the pavement repaired. In the meantime, someone covered the hole with a piece of wood and a cardboard box on top it.

The local council referred me to the police who assured me they will be looking into the matter.

The hole was still there on October 31. The danger to life and limb remained. While writing this letter it is raining heavily, so I cannot imagine what the situation is like there.

Hopefully, whoever is responsible will not wait for some accident to happen before doing something about it, as, sadly, is usually the case.
