It is obviously more economical that buses no longer have ticket conductors. At the same time, their absence is causing delays. I am not advocating the immediate re-introduction of bus conductors but that some trials be made on certain routes.

I estimate that some trips could be shortened by 10 minutes. No fault of the drivers but, on certain roads, they block traffic, which slows down movement and adds to air pollution. Thus, I recommend that detailed studies and test trials be carried out on a sample of buses and routes to evaluate the benefits, if any.
