What is corporate social responsibility and where does the media fit in? And how can NGOs benefit from CSR?

A national conference will be held with the theme CSR: business, journalism and society. It is organised by the Tumas Fenech Foundation for Education in Journalism with the President’s Foundation for Social Wellbeing.

The event, themed 'SR: business, journalism and society’ will be held on  November 7 at San Anton Palace, Attard, between 2.30pm and 6.30pm.

The conference, which is being held under the patronage of President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, is aimed at journalists, NGOs and corporate executives involved in decisions on corporate social responsibility and should prove to be an opportunity for debate about the latest CSR initiatives.

The conference will feature three speakers: Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne, Luis Neves, Managing Director Global e-Sustainability Initiative and Cheryl Rosario, director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Philanthropy at Wyndham Worldwide.

There will also be two panel discussions, the first on the ‘Practical aspects of CSR’, chaired by President Emeritus Ugo Mifsud Bonnici, Chairman of the FTFEĠ; and the other, chaired by Dr Ruth Farrugia, Director General of the PFWS.
